In 2007, Massachusetts had over 130,000 families in desperate need of food assistance and now leads the nation in the having the fastest growing population of food stamp recipients. In fact, recent studies show that over 12% of all children in Massachusetts are living in poverty, and over 30% of families affected indicate that this year they will be forced to choose between food and heat, or food and medical care.
The Massachusetts Children’s Fund is a non-profit organization, which provides baby food to infants in dire need here in the Bay State. These children, often the victims of neglect, abuse or poverty are in desperate need of proper nutrition for their own survival.
There are many ways that you can help:
Make a one-time donation of baby food to a needy child, or perhaps even sponsor a local child with a $20/month donation.
Run a baby food drive in your local school or community group.
All types of food or monetary donations are welcome, and 100% of all funding goes solely to the purchase of baby food for children in our community
At a time when we are eager to help those in other nations, can you reach out to help these children, right here at home.
