From the poetic lyrics of Jim Morrison, to his unpredictable on stage personality, The Doors were always a subject of controversy. Getting their start in Los Angles in 1965, The Doors were playing the infamous Whiskey a Go Go as the house band. Soon after the release of their self-title first album, The Doors received nationwide success. After six albums and numerous arrests, Jim Morrison died suddenly in July of 1971; the cause of death is still unknown to date. After his death, The Doors went on to release two new albums gaining little success as when Morrison was still alive.
