  • In 1967 The Beatles completed filming their TV special “Magical Mystery Tour” at Ringo’s country house in Surrey. The day’s work was done mainly in the backyard where each Beatle was filmed pretending to play a white cello.
  • Led Zeppelin’s live film soundtrack album “The Song Remains The Same” was certified gold in 1976
  • A year later Elton John announced he was retiring from live performances. He was back onstage, however, by ’79
  • The members of U2 attended the American premier of their movie “Rattle and Hum” in Hollywood in 1988
  • In 1991 more than 300,000 people showed up at a free concert in San Fransisco’s Golden Gate Park in memory of rock promoter Bill Graham. Among the acts performing were the Grateful Dead, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Santana and Journey
  • and in 1998 the John Lennon box set, “Anthology,” was released
  • The j. Geils Band and Fleetwood Mac played the Music Hall in ’71
  • A year later it was the Steve Miller Band at the Aquarius Theater
  • in 1981 the Moody Blues played the Boston Garden
  • AC/DC rocked the Centrum in 1990
