Jeff Healey ?Mess of Blues?
|
Jeff Healey burst onto the American music scene in 1988 when his album “See the Light” was nominated for a Grammy Award and the single “Angel Eyes” became a hit single. Jeff would be led onstage during his concerts and take a seat, resting his guitar in his lap and just wailing all night. Sometimes he couldn’t contain himself and he’d stand up, lurching about the stage with that guitar pressed against his body and his fingers dancing off some unbelievable leads. Jeff also possessed a fine voice which would continue to serve him well through a brilliant career. He appeared in the Patrick Swayze film “Roadhouse” and placed a few songs on the soundtrack album. He played with his mentors like BB King and Stevie Ray Vaughan and eventually was a Jazz performer and even a DJ in Toronto. Late last year Jeff completed his last CD – “Mess of Blues” which was due to come out this month and which, he sadly did not see to be released. So – see the light and pick up this exciting collection of blues and rock recorded onstage and in the studio. Aside from blues standards like the title track (which Elvis Presley once did), Jeff also tackles the Band’s “The Weight” and an epic “Like a Hurricane” from Neil Young. We’ll miss you, Jeff! |
